I have just bought my first split seat and I do notice somewhat lesser pressure. I have never really rested too much on my croth since I ride a 'Hard Tail' anyway. Anyway I am just wondering.

  1. That's the claim.

I have had a problem with numbness for quite a while that was hard to solve. I used to have a comfortable Serfas seat with a cutout then went to a lightweight Fizik Aliante (no problems). I got a new bike with a Fizik Arione and it made me numb. My wife wouldn't give up the Alainte so I got a new one (numb again). I then sent through about 7 different seats with not luck until purchasing a Selle SMP. For anyone with problems it's a godsend. If you don't need it be thankful but make sure you don't get any tingling or numbness down there because it can cause permanent damage.

  2. for some, yep.

also: http://www.thecomfortseat.com/ , but you cant put body english easily on the bike--- mainly a roadie seat.
