Do stepmoms dislike stepkids?

do stepmoms really dislike the stepkids because the kids are first in the dads life

I have a step son, known him since he was 1,(hes 11now) he never liked me, I tried real hard at first but I think his family was giving him some bad feed back so after a while I stoped trying.

I love my stepson more than anything. I believe that kids should come first in any parents life(even before spouse). My husband and I have complete full custody of my stepson and I am the one who got that started and don't regret it at any time. I would fight to the death for my stepson just as I would my own biological child. As far as I am concerned even though I did not give birth to him, he is by all accounts mine.

If stepmoms dislike their stepkids because the kids are first in the dad's life, then the stepmoms are very selfish. I have two kids and if I ever get married again, I can't imagine putting the new hubby ahead of them or trying to get between him and his kids. That's just wrong.

I adore my two step children.  And, I come first in their dads life.  It is said that when the parents take care of each other first, they will have a happy home and then the children will be happy.  In my heart, these children are mine.  We have custody and with my husband working out of town, I am raising them.  We are real close.

This is a complicated answer.  Most normal stepmoms and stepkids would and should like each other but there are usually problems with one or the other wanting more attention than the other from the father.  The father has to handle the relationships very carefully or there will be problems. I have three step children the youngest I love he was 4,  his brother was 16 and he was ok no problems but the 13 yr. old girl has been a big problem.  She wants to be queen of the house and was before me and now I am and she doesn't like it.  The problem is her dad has a hard time putting her in her place and treating her like a child so we do not get along at all.  She lies and will do anything to cause problems between us. On the other hand I have two children of my own and they get along great with their step dad.

i believe this 100% im 21 years old and my dads been married to his new wife for 2-3 years and she has already started so many fights between my dad and sister that they quit talking a year ago,she is trying to do it with me. my opinion is shes trying to make my dad replace her ex husband. i hate stepmoms cuz of her.
