I swear this happens to me once or twice a week - and once in awhile they come on (but not during the shift from day to night). Just chance?

  1. yeah it's just happenstance but it happens to me too.

it's kinda funny n creepy that they go out like that when we drive under them

my mom and i always laugh and joke about the town forgetting to pay the electric bill again when it happens

  2. nope never happened to me bu no someone it did happen to

  3. If the street lights are on a signalized intersection, it's possible that the lights' sensors (that turn them on and off depending on surrounding light conditions) are mounted on the signal controller cabinet itself, as opposed to the top of the luminaire (the lamp). Since the sensors are near ground level it's quite possible that the settings are such that your headlights can trigger the sensors and turn off the lights.

  4. yup just chance, but it's creepy huh? they are on an energy saving rotation and it just happens.

  5. Yeah, I've seen it.  When lights go off when you drive under them.  It is a rarity for me though.
