Do stupid commercials (e.g Wendy's, McDonalds) steer you away or drive you towards their product?

I'm wondering because it seems that their commercials are trying to be too stupid for you to even show your face at their door or something. Especially McDonalds, how they try SOOO hard to appeal to the younger public. Or maybe it's just to those stupid little wangsters who try to act hard just because they heard a cool hip hop song or can curse.

Or wendy's how they used to be funny but now they use stupid questions like "If beef was meant to be frozen, wouldn't cows come from Antarctica?" 'No, but I guess cows were meant to be cooked because they came from the sun!'

It's so ridiculous, I know this is a big deal out of stupid commercials but doesn't that atleast KIND OF make you want to not go to these places, good food or not?

I really don't care about commercials unless they are morally wrong or something, that may lead me away from their products. If I want Wendys but and have a stupid commercial it doesn't matter to me. Advertising agencies have nothing to do with the way the product tastes, what the product does, etc.

I don't really pay too much attention to them. I like Wendy's over McDonalds for many reasons and no amount of proper publicity will make me want to go there. on the other hand... DQ's and Sonic's commercials are really appealing to me for some reason... even though I've never been there for their food before.

We don't have Wendy's here in the UK anymore, but I saw a USA commercial for Wendy's on Youtube with a group of people wearing red plait wigs and kicking trees.....WTF??? Is that meant to be funny or something, because it's not working at all. Mc donald's UK commericals aren't so bad, it's usually  just some football players encouraging people to eat Mc Donalds with a balanced diet or something.

I love the McDonalds commercials but I don't like McDonalds that much.

The only commercials which influence me are those using stupid Hip Hop and Rap so-called music.   These cause me to avoid the product at all costs.  All the other commercials only interest me if they are funny, such as the Sonic ones.  But, even they don't influence my shopping.

I don't go because of the commercials I think they are stupid every once in a while they come up with something that sounds good but they ruin it with an expensive price and dumb commercial

Those stupid commercials drive me AWAY from their product. I can't remember which fast-food chain it was, but it was people in a car, in a drive-thru, ordering some stuff and one of the stuff was "a ba-dunk-a-dunk". WhoA! That totally turned me off. And my friend actually thought it was racist.

BK commercials are stupid to me, but I still like their food better than McDonalds, so I'd be more likely to eat at BK, not that I eat much there in the first place.  

I think Sonic commercials are funny, but I've yet to eat at one.  (On a side note, there are none near where I live.)  

Only if commercials are particularly offensive or seriously off-putting do I not buy their product.  Like the Secret Flawless commercial.  That one makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a spoon.
