Do summer cottons wear out faster or is it because I buy them from the following stores?

It's like the cotton pills up and the tops and tanks look worn out fast and I'm washing them on delicate and air dry. Is it where I'm shopping or is this normal?

  1. old navy always pills up fast, and i dont really shop at the others...i was my stuff on cold and hang it to dry and dont have problems really at all.
