Do tattoo's hurt a lot? Where does it hurt least? What should i get?

i want a tattoo in a couple of years. but im not a fan of doctors needle..i want to sacrifice the pain and get one for my daddy sayin his name michael(mikey or mike) or daddy's angel or daddy's girl. What should i get and wear.. he never got a tattoo so its gunna be our first..and i want it to be memorable.. My name is the female version of his Michel (pronounced michelle) and my nickname is Michey ; and im his eldest girl and of course his first so... Where is the least painful area for me to get a tattoo nd what should it say relating my dad?

the pain from a tattoo is a lot different than that of a doctors needle. but also it is a different pain for everyone so you can't expect to know what it feels like because everyone feels pain differently. you just have to experience it for yourself. everyone ive talked to says it feels a different way. the least painful place to get it would be where there is the most fatty tissue, as opposed to a bony place on your body or where there are nerves like your wrist or ankle... as to what it says, thats entirely your decision! do what you feel represents best.

nobody can tell you what to get. Tattoo's are extremely personal and you should get what feels right to you. I'd suggest finding a good tattoo artist and sitting down to talk to him or her. they'll help you figure out what is best for you.

Pain is relevant. It really all depends on your pain tolerance. I have four tattoos..my inner wrist, inner arm, tummy, and chest (above my heart) apparently those spots are supposed to hurt, but I hardly felt it. Places that have more flesh will hurt less.

I'm scared of needles too, but a tattoo gun is definitely not the same thing. I barely noticed it was a needle when I got all of mine.

behind the ear...i have quite a few and i gotta say i didnt even feel it in that place! but you have to get something really small...unless you want them to shave a little of your hair!
