unless you are very fluent I would not try it, is hard enough to just get them to take you where you want to go.  Hint; if not fluent, and I mean really fluent always have the address you are traveling to written down and give it to the driver as you may mispronounce something and wind up on the wrong side of town, all the streets sound the same, lol.

Many taxis do take credit cards. There is usually a minimum fare when they do. You merely need to inquire before entering.
