  1. 'Teddybear' is another name for 'Syrinian' the are solitary animals and WILL kill eachother if put in the same cage after maturity at 5 to 8 weeks of age, do not place 2 in the same cage!

  2. well teddy bear hamsters don't mind either way usually. if you get a pair make sure they are both the same s*x. if you get a boy and a girl you are going to have babies on your hands. and the mothers can be a bit possessive of the babies. they might even eat them. so be careful if you plan to get more than one.

  3. I had a teddy bear hamster, and i read that they have to be alone or they will fight with one another.

but you  can keep a female and male, togehter during mating season.

  4. Teddy bear hamsters are basically the long haired breed of the syrian hamster. If two are put together they will fight, and probably kill each other. If a male and female are put together they will mate, and you'll have babies. Hamsters are solitary so they won't mind being alone.

Make sure to play with your hamster and provide plenty of safe toys to make sure he doesn't get bored.

  5. They do better on there own.. Sometimes two will fight and can kill each other...

  6. Hamsters are solitary animals and only get together for mating.  If you get two they will fight.  When I was a child we bought two hamsters and one killed the other.

  7. Teddy bear hamster are solitary rodents. They will fight if kept together, possibly til death.

  8. Teddy bear hamsters are solitary hamsters and do not need a friend. If two are put together, they will fight to death. They don't mind being alone. Just play with your hamster and he'll be fine.
