Do teenage girls in short cotton shorts with words on the butt?

bother you? I think under the age of 16 it's highly inappropriate. I'm only 25 and I don't know if I'm being prude or not, but I don't need to see that much thigh and butt cheek. And at 14 you shouldn't be advertising yourself as juicy or pink or anything! Ugh!

I think they are tacky and it seems that people wear them to get attention. And of course it is the wrong kind of attention. However, I went to the store to buy myself some sweats and there weren't any without something on the behind area. So maybe they just want shorts, but can not find something more appropriate. I hate seeing it though on anyone.

Im about to be a sophomore in high school, and i agree and disagree with you. I think that if you are skinny enough to wear them, then you can. But i dont mean those really really short ones. I mean like ones that are decent length, its fine if they say like "beach bum" or something. My 11 year old cousin always wears ones like that. Also, young children can wear them too, because it just looks cute on them. But thats before they get all "look at me, im wearing short shorts"

They do bother me. I wouldn't allow my daughters to do so in public. But maybe I will allow them to wear such shorts only to bed.

i think at the age of 15 and up it is fine, but under that is just wrong

If I caught my 14 yo in something like that, she'd be changing before she went out the door.. matter of fact, I express disapproval if my 29yo duaghter tries to wear something like that, and she's married, and doesn't live at home..

as that answerer said, if they go out of the house dressed like that, then, regardless of what we think, predators and peds WILL be looking and thinking that they're free game..

I agree that it is inappropriate for a young girl to wear them,  most of what young girls wear IS inappropriate!   But I also think it's gross when any woman over the age of 25 wears them.  All I can think when I see it is, "grow up".

If it's on someone below high school it is inappropriate.  At 14 and older, girls are developing and want to show off their body and are sexually curious at this age.  I know, they seem like babies to us, but weren't you this way as a freshman or sophomore in high school?

I'm 13, i personally don't want to draw attention to my butt, i stay away from those shorts. Besides, they read desperate w***e.

I would agree. Unfortunelty parents let their daughters dress like this and get the wrong attention from child predators. I can tell you my daughter will NEVER dress like that.

I don't think words on the butt are bad unless the shorts are super short. Teens and tweens these days seem to only care about wearing the least clothing from the most expensive stores...It's kind of sad actually.

LOL, and I thought I was just an old fuddy duddy (50).  I dislike them on just about anyone, but it's doubly inappropriate on younger girls.

I think that whoever invented those pants and shorts needs to be shot.  And personally I can't see how someone's butt hanging out of their pants is considered attractive.

If I had a daughter and caught her in something like that she would be walking around in nun garb for a month.

i think that if your butt isn't hanging out then its okay because i have sweats that say stuff. it really doesnt matter if you wear writing on your pants because if perverts are going to look they will look no matter what you are wearing.

I've never really been much into that sort of thing. I'm 19 and still wouldn't wear it. I'm very comfortable with my body, but I don't think everyone wants to see it. Of course, I was always one to follow the school dress code even when I was not at school.
