Do teens with the possibility of being pregnant get a say in abortion if their parents know?

If the teen might be pregnant, would she have a say in abortion, or is it her parents decision?

She doesnt want one.

no one can make u get an abortion, in the same way that no one can stop you from getting one if u choose to!

you will need to check with your state. unfortunately (or fortunately, i guess) there are some states that require parental consent for abortions. ultimately it's the woman's decision. a parent cannot FORCE their daughter to have an abortion.

I live in Washington State, but I don't know where to look to see what the laws actually state about that.  I know that it is legal to get an abortion in this state, but I really don't think that her parents could force her to get one.  I don't know if parents in any state could force their daughter to get an abortion, I do know that in some states it is not legal for a minor to get an abortion without their parents permission, but I don't think the parents can force their child to in any state.

But being a parent is hard enough when the parent is an adult and is married.  She should seriously think of giving the baby up for adoption.

u dont have to tell your parents if you get an abortion.  they cant make u get an abortion or make u keep the baby. if you want to keep the baby then u need to talk to your parents about it. they cant make u keep the baby but if they disaprove they can make life hard for you. you have to tak into consideration that you need to fee the baby and change the baby and the baby needs daycare while your at school so a baby costs money and if you dont have your parents support then your not in good shape. adoption is always an option tho...

You do not have to get an abortion if you don't want to... it is your decision and you can keep the baby and no one can force you to get an abortion!!!

Parents do "get a say" in that they have to consent to an abortion in most states, just like they have to consent for any other medical procedures for their children.  But it doesn't work the other way around- nobody can (legally) make her get an abortion.  Unfortunately, it happens all the time- parents threaten to withdraw all support, so that there's no "choice" at all.  To avoid this outcome, she should call 800-395-HELP to learn about free resources in her area.
