  1. Yes...and so do the expats working in Thailand as well

  2. That depends on their job.   I know a girl that teaches at a school in BKK that pays income tax just like we do in western countries. It automatically gets deducted from her paycheck... However, her family grows and sells fruits and vegetables, and I know for a fact that they don't pay any income tax.

I asked her how they got away with that. She told me that because all their deals are done in cash, it's too hard to keep records, so the government doesn't ask about it..

  3. absolutely.

Every worker who earns 10,000 baht or more per month pays income tax.  There was talk recently of lowering the taxes, but that did not come to fruition.

It is common for Thais to misrepresent their earning to avoid the full tax they owe, and the overwhelming majority of companies fudge their numbers for tax purposes.

  4. Yes they do.  Also Expats working in Thailand pay Thai income tax.

  5. Yes they do like UK it is on a sliding scale.

But there is alot of cash in hand jobs done also.

  6. h**l yeah.. My tax accumulated possibly bought a couple of F16 already. I don't even get to ride on it.
