They have all the talent to be this years Capitals or Canadiens. So yes I think so, they won't win their division though because of Detroit.

Sorry to dissapoint you, but there is a very slim chance that the blackhawks can make the playoffs this yr. This is strictly due to the face that the West is so tight and are filled with a lot of great teams. If you take a look the teams that most likely will make the playoffs are: Detroit, Dallas, San Jose, Colorado, Anaheim, Calgary,maybe Minnesota and Nashville. But hey Chicago has a great future down the road. Once there young players fully develop they will be one of the tougher teams... but right now i dont think so.

The Hawks can absolutely make the playoffs, here's what will need to happen though if there gonna go anywhere.

1. Toews and Kane cannot have a Sophomore Slumps

2. Either Huet or Khabibulin must distinguish themselve as a starting goalie and win at least 35 games

3. Brian Campbell must have at least 65 points

4. Sharp and Lang must combine for at least 130 points

5. Finish with at least 93 Points in the West

they have a lot of great potential so yes they do but i don't think they will win the cup but they'll go to the playoffs but you never know.

Yes they have a very good chance.  The only problem I can see arising for them is injury or having the goaltending situation become a distraction for the players.  They did exactly what you need to do to make a winning team in the NHL the drafted and developed the majority of their talent and got only a few pieces through free agency.
