Yes, Japan was settled by Chinese people many (many ) years ago.  

Curiously, they had to displace the hairy Ainu people who were indigenous to Japan.

going back thousands and thousands of years, but that was when Japan was connected to Korea, but yes some where along the line a Japanese is related to a chinese
