  1. They only have Fastpassses at specific rides, normally the bigger ones. You find a ride you would like to go on that has a Fastpass sign and take the Fastpass from that machine. The Fastpass will say something like Splash Mountain Return Time 10:30. When you arrive at 10:30, you will wait in a much shorter line.

To answer your question Fastpasses only work on the ride you got them for. If you got a Fastpass for Space Mountain, it only works on Space Mountain. Good luck.

  2. No. Each Fastpass enabled ride provides time stamped tickets specifically for that ride. If you get an Indy Fastpass with a return time of 1pm, it is only good for Indy after 1pm. Here's a list of the Fastpass attractions:

    Disneyland

    Autopia, presented by Chevron

    Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

    Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters

    Indiana Jones™ Adventure

    Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin

    Space Mountain

    Splash Mountain

    Seasonal: Haunted Mansion Holiday

    California Adventure

    California Screamin'

    Grizzly River Run

    Mulholland Madness, presented by Alamo

    Soarin' Over California

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™

There is a secret to fastpasses, though: all of the attractions are not connected. Ordinarily you're allowed to hold ONE fastpass, getting your next one when your appointment arrives or two hours after obtaining the first one. Example: If it's 10am and the return time is 1pm, then you can get a second fastpass at noon or later.

HOWEVER: Disneyland and California Adventure are on two separate systems, so you could get a fastpass at each park. Moreover, Grizzly River Rapids and Roger Rabbit are on their own separate systems, so that's two more. It would be possible to hold FOUR fastpasses at one time, although that's a lot of running around.

Even more good news: Most castmembers are waaaaaay too busy to deal with expiration times. If you miss your riding window, go back to the attraction when you are able to. There's a good chance the castmembers will let you ride long after your particular window has closed.
