Do the Freemasons exist in the middle east?

Is their presence well known and open in middle eastern countries as it is here in the US? I know it's a "secret" society, but it is not a secret that they exist.

Remember that most of the Mid-East was under British and French control until the mid-20th century, and even those that were not were greatly influenced by Europe. Masonry became quite common in the region, and still exists where extremest regimes have not taken over and persecuted it.
