I believe yes they do. Its not over till its over. They have a lot of their games left against teams their chasing including Yankees, Red Sox, Rays and other division teams, orioles. Plus they have series against white sox and minosota.

They have been playing so great lately too that i believe they should be the team to beat. They have like the greatest pitching and defence and their hitting is really good just inconsistent at times. I beleive if they miss it this year they will be close and just miss it and will have a chance next year. The AL east will soon be a division where 90 wins + may not even get you a play off spot.

  1. I see them finishing 4th

The Rays are going to have Division and I see Red Sox winning wild card.

  2. Well the Red Sox, Rays and yankees have been doing much better then the blue Jays this season Its really close with the red sox and rays and even in the wild card its really close so the only team that really has a chance 2 take away the red sox's or rays playoffs would be most likely the yankees but I'm a red sox's fan so i don't want that 2 happen.

  3. No. It is between the Rays, Sox, and Yanks in my opinion. The Yankees never seem to be out of it and often find a way up the standings to make the postseason. If the Jays want to start winning, I suggest they get a big bat in the offseason if they want to get serious in the division. I am not discrediting the Jays, they have a d**n good squad. If they played in another division they would be dominant.

  4. The Miracle Braves of 1914 were 12 - 28 on June 8. By August 3 they had made it to one game over .500 at 46 - 45. They finished the season with a 94 - 59 record and swept the A's in the Series.

As of today the Jays are 12 1/2  back with 32 games left. Tampa is still hot but September is the month when these young teams run out of gas. The Yanks and Sox are still lurking. It's possible but you're going to need a miracle.

  5. I think 4th place is where they should be, not the 3rd. Even they have a pretty good team with a very good run differential. Inconsistency killed them, just like the Yankees.

However, the good thing is that they don't need to catch a lot of teams to get wild card even they are 8 games behind the Redsox.

If they get it together and win those important games, we might see a surprising team in the playoff. I don't see that happening though.

  6. I see u are a big Jays fan i guess... but man i don't think they are making it this year- its right now the rays, red sox and MY yanks. IF the Yankees are 8 games back in the Al East, that mean the Jays are like 11 or 12 games back. That's a hard deafest to come back from with these teams. I'll give them some credit- they do better with Cito Gaston then Jay Gibbons and they are over .500 ball club. Next year, when Vernon Wells is 100% again and they get a  few good hitters that are free agents- i say they have a good chance for the wild card- but im still rooting for my Yankees- GO YANKS!!!!!!!

    Hope this helps~

  7. Nope.

  8. yes of course they do

what does the adidas advertisement say?

    impossible is nothing

  9. They have a very, very, very good chance at watching the postseason on TV.

  10. The Jays won't make it, no way, unless they manage to sneak into the playoffs via 2007 Rockies Win Streak. And the Jays have tougher opponents like the Yankees, Red Sox, White Sox and even Minnesota. The Twins are a great surprise this year, just as they were in 2006. Yes, the Jays' pitching depth is quite deep, with Cy Young hopeful Roy Halladay, AJ Burnett, and a few other guys like BJ Ryan and Jesse Litsch. Their offense is the most worrying, although they are streaky currently. Vernon Wells, Alex Rios, Adam Lind and probably Marco Scutaro are their main producers. They won't be able to match up with the offenses of Boston (Youkilis, Ortiz and Bay), Twins (clutch hitting) White Sox (homers) and even Yankees, although they are both inconsistent. The Yanks' lineup includes more dangerous hitters, and if Bobby Abreu, Jason Giambi, Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez all start producing frequently again they will sneak into the playoffs. Same case with the Jays. Rios should be embarrassed with his home run number. Wells needs to start homering, too. Shaun Marcum needs to get back into his pre-Summer Classic form to help Halladay and Burnett. Their pitching is great, but their offense stinks, and it takes equal amounts of both categories to make the Postseason. Look at the Angels. What a lucky team they are to be in a divison with lowly clubs like the M's.
