  1. Fantastic Trade for the Oilers.

Lubomir is locked up til 2012-2013 with a cap hit of 5.6mil and has a No Movement Clause which means HE ACTUALLY AGREED TO PLAY IN EDMONTON!

Stoll and Greene are both RFAs.....

Stoll would be asking for anywhere from 2.5-3 mil and probably a one year deal hoping to get more after a turnaround year.

Greene will be asking at least 2 - 2.5 mil after a strong campaign with the Oilers proving that he can log big minutes.

So - with that said... Oilers are dropping "potentially" 5 mil in Salary and getting another great offensive weapon (who is also sound defensively btw) and is locked up for a long time.

On the flip side... if Stoll finds the game he had 2 years ago he will be Captain of some NHL team some day.. He's got a great work ethic and is a leader on the ice. Greene had a great year last year and his physical presence will be missed on the Oilers blueline. Stoll is great at both ends of the ice and is a very responsible player. Greene has little offensive upside but it is a great Stay-at-home d-man.

  2. Visnovsky on the fast Edmonton ice? You read it right here .. 60+ points EASY ..

  3. Oilers win.  Visnovsky was 17th in points by defensemen.  Green got ONE point.  He only played 46 games, but he got ONE point!!  Stoll is a decent center.  Nothing amazing.

  4. I am a huge oilers fan and I have to say I kinda like this trade.  Visnovsky is an excellent skater good all around defenseman and he can find his way on the score sheet.  One thing that stood out to me is that he played every game last season so lets hope it stays that way.  God knows the oilers can't seem to stay healthy for the life of them.  Both Stoll and Green suffered injuries last year.  I am a little sad to see them go but something had to give.  The oilers found way too much talent in the replacements for all the injured last year.  This will be the first of many trades for Edmonton but please please please Kevin Lowe.... no bonehead moves.  HA yeah right....who am I kidding.  oh well

    GO OILERS GO!!!
