Do the Olympic Athletes have regular 9-5 jobs?

Ok, this might be a stupid question to some but I really don't know.

If so, do you know what any of the athletes do for a living? Besides train every single day of course. But they do need to pay the bills somehow, right?!

yes some do have regular jobs. give it another year or so and you wont even remember who micheal phleps is

Top athletes make millions through winning competitions and through sponsors, so they don't need jobs.  But some athletes are just normal citizens who go to college and have jobs, especially if their sport doesn't require a full day of dedication to practice and training.

I expect some of them do but I'm not sure how many.

A lot of them are professionals at their sport though, and live off of winning stuff like races, championships, etc. Also the better ones will have sponsorships or advertising/spokesperson deals from companies like Coke, McDonalds, Nike, Adidas that pay a lot of their bills.

In some of the weirder sports like badminton, etc there probably are some athletes who work regular jobs too. Also if they're from poorer or smaller countries they probably just don't have such a good chance for sponsorship as athletes from China or America.

Depends, if they are famous Olympic champions they can pay the bills with what they earn from sponsors.... but athletes who just go to take part in the competition do have regular jobs, and they train in the morning or in the evening, or the younger ones study at the high school or university, and they train there. Those athletes represent the true spirit of sport.

Some of them are semi-professional.. and do train for time-to-time.. Most of them get their money from endorsement, prize money, etc.
