Do the Pope's "blessings" work?

At the Vatican you can pay five euros for the Pope to bless you. Will you ACTUALLY be blessed or is he just doing it for the money? Oh and how much money is the Pope's blessing really worth, 5 euroes, 100 euroes... priceless? Do poor people get blessed or just people with 5 euroes to spare?

Pope Pius IX (the one from the infallibility of the pope and the immaculate conception of Mary) nearly attacked a lame person who refused to get up and walk after His Holiness ordered him to get up and walk. This happened end of 19th century.

That the Vatican still sells blessings is an outrageous scandal, an insult to serious believers and, in my eyes,  a scam.

Sometimes we receive benefits from a blessing while on earth, and other times we must wait until the afterlife to obtain increased eternal happiness from a blessing received.

Blessings are free, not 5 euros.  Charging for a blessing would be a sin.  I'm actually sitting next to a lady who was blessed by JP2 without even asking for it, let alone paying for it.

They shouldn't charge for this.  That is wrong.  I don't know whether the blessings would help but if you believe they would they might.  Our beliefs make a huge difference.
