Do the Saints have the chance to go to the super bowl this year?

I know that our defense isnt that good, but we did upgrade it pretty well by bringing in one of the best Mike linebackers in the NFL(Jonathan Vilma), and we got a great rookie DT in Sedrick Ellis, who has been compared to warren sapp. Our offense is probably the best in the NFC, cuz we have one of the Best tight ends(Shockey) and a great wr(colston), who all revolve around Drew Brees. And our running game should get back on track now that McAlister is back and reggie can go back to his old role where he scored 8 tds 2 years ago. The offensive line is also good, only allowing 16 sacks last year. With that being said, are they a contender?

I think they will....they will beat out Dallas in the NFC champ. game and finally shut all the cowgirls fans up...but they will lose to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Super Bowl.....

Our defensive backs are very suspect, if we can create a pass rush to help them then yes we can get to the big show. If the Giants of last year can win it all, we can definitely do it as well.

Yeah now that I think about it, they do have one of the best offenses in the NFC.  I mean they have an outstanding QB and some great recievers to throw it to.  I think mcallister will be comback player of the year, so its very possible that the saints will go to the SB.

It there best chance for as long as i can remember, i heard some one espn picking them to go but loose, so there is a chance but i wouldnt bet on it or anything

Well, I think they have a great opportunity to do so. They have one of the best QB's in the league leading the crew. They have an electrifying RB that is bound to have a coming out party this year. They have a top 10 receiver, as well as three solid WR's behind him. They have also signed one of the best TE's in the league. They have a very strong O-line led by Jon Stinchcomb. Then, they have two of the best DE's in the league on each side, one of the best young DT's in the middle, a very strong LB crew, tough CB's, and veteran safeties. I think they will come alive this year and make a run similar to 2006. It will simply come down to the playoff games. I do believe they can beat teams like Minnesota, Seattle, and the Giants. However, Dallas might be a huge test for them. But if they can go on to take down the Cowboys, a super bowl is not at all out of the question. Good luck New Orleans!

The Saints have the BEST chance in my view to reach the Super Bowl for the NFC.
