Do the Sun's rays hit you when you're underwater?

Can you still get tan when you're swimming underwater? Thanks.

Yes, until your under about three feet of water. So, even if you are swimming, it's always a good idea to wear sunscreen.

But not below one metre of depth.

yes you can still get a tan but not as good as you could in the air. light travels through better through air but it travels through water as well. hope it helps :)
