  1. I went to a lot of places in Europe and I found Switzerland my favorite..

    the people were really friendly..

I don't think they dislike foreigners..

One thing that helped me was trying to speak a little of their language.. like saying thank you.. they love that!

  2. I don't think so at all!  We moved here two yeas ago (to Geneva) and we've found people to be very polite and friendly.  They are reserved - ie. they won't chat with you instantly or things like that though.  In terms of travel, we've found the fact that the trains are so efficient, it's very easy to find information out about tourist places and there is so much to do makes it a visitor friendly place!

  3. No, they don't like or dislike all visitors.

They are very friendly to all visitors who are respectful, honest, and don't act like "the Ugly American". Watch the Swiss people. See how they are acting and follow their lead.

It is a beautiful country. The Swiss are law-abiding, honest, decent and lots of fun. Get to know them. You will like them, too.

  4. I've been to Switzerland a few times, and love the country.  To me everyone was very friendly, I had no problems with people in hotels, shops, restaurants or just the locals on the streets.

  5. No they are freindly there country runs on tourism

  6. I have been to Switzerland a few times, and I have always found the Swiss to be very friendly.

  7. The Swiss are very friendly people, and as a tourist you wouldn't feel any hostility. There might be some anti-foreigner sentiment directed at immigrants, but that's a different issue.
