  1. I don't see much of an affect here. They don't take care of their laborers properly and if they riot they are sent back to their country. Despite all this, the government is turning a blind eye to their needs and all that the Arabs are doing is nothing but implementing more and more tougher laws to control the flow of people from poor countries. These people worship white people!! Because of all this, major part of workforce here is from India and they are decreasing owing to rapid development in India and many Indians are considering India to be more more profitful than Dubai. Now these construction labour recruitment people are facing a shortage in labourers due to harsh treatment of labourers in UAE.

  2. Sorry, but I have to disagree with the answer giving by Ash. The "tougher" visa rules are part of protecting the workforce and the country.

Following the new visa rules it will be hard to come here on a visit visa and look for a job, because you have to leave the country again for a month before re-entering. This is to avoid thousands of people coming here on visit visas, taking work and maybe being forced to go back and forth on visa runs instead being provided with a proper visa on the company's expenses from the beginning.

Every year thousands of people overstaying their visas and living illegally in the UAE. Many of them then are taking advantage of by greedy employers. If hired the proper way it will cost the companies more money but it's much better for the workforce.

Certain visa rules for some undeveloped countries regarding women are just "tough" to avoid human trafficking.

I do not think that the new visa rules will cause any shortage on labourers. Just prices will go up because companies will compensate the higher hiring costs.

Appartments, offices, villas etc are sold already before they are even build. No worry about whom to put in.

The effect of the new visa rules hopefully will be a better organized workforce on valid visas incl. health care where people are provided with the ticket to come here and do not have to go on visa runs.

    Take care.
