Is Wales still regarded as a conquered nation in this day and age, or do they have the same rights as any other free nation?

  1. Do the English have a right to be ask if they want a Scottish PM? who was never even voted for?

  2. They accepted the present arrangement in 1282 and should be grateful for what they are given

  3. They were originally promised a prince who was born in Wales.  This was arranged by an English king in the middle ages who had his wife give birth to his son in Canarvon Castle.

I think Wales status is that of being a nation within the United Kingdom, much like Scotland.  They have the same rights as any other citizen of the United Kingdom.

  4. No they don't but he is not the true prince of wales he is just someone who thinks he is. I bet if there was an opinion poll in wales to either reinstate our native monrachy, retain the one we have now or republic, The republic or reinstatal of our native prince would be most common. WE WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH ENGLISH OR BRITISH RULE WE ARE WELSH AND ONLY WELSH. **** THE REST OF BRITAIN ALTHOUGH WE LIKE SCOTLAND AND THE ISLE OF MAN AND NORTHEN IRELAND ND CORNWALL JUST NOT ENGLAND. ESPECIALLY THE SOUTH EAST.

  5. Apparently its the monarch who chooses the prince of Wales.

A little of the history for u.

  6. When the Princess of Wales secretly married my son, that made him the prince of wales.  When they both died, that left me as head of the family.  So I am the real Prince of fuggn Wales.

  7. No they cannot choose their own prince. Any member of the Royal house of Windsor is British. and I think you will find that the Royals have a nationality noted as British on their passports

  8. You dont choose your countrys royalty they are born into it so no the Welsh dont have the right to choose their own Prince

  9. I think you will find that that was decided several centuries ago. They are not a conquered nation and never have been

  10. Wales is one of four separate countries within a larger political entity, the United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.  As such, Wales is closely, but not completely, tied to England.  The English monarch abolished Welsh law late in the 16th century after England formally annexed Wales in 1536.  Wales has never been a sovereign state, even if some of its principalities remained independent until the Anglo-Norman Conquest.  By way of contrast with Wales, Scotland has retained its own legal and educational systems as well as its own state church.

As Wales has devolved from its complete reliance on England in recent years, it has won the right to have its own unicameral legislative assembly.  Similarly, Scotland also has its own one house parliament.  The name "Wales" comes from the Germanic "Walha", meaning foreigner.  The Welsh label themselves as "Cymry", which translates as compatriots in Old Welsh.

  11. Traditionally the title Prince of Wales goes to the eldest son of the Monarch. When Charles becomes King the title will, more than likely, pass to William.

Wales is not " a conquered Nation", we are all part of a United Kingdom.

  12. 1. The Prince of Wales's title is a title in the English peerage.

    2. No one resident in any geographical area is asked if they mind their area's name being attached to someone's title.   Wessexians (dies this area even exist anymore) were not asked about Eddy and Yorkies were not asked about Andy.   Similarly, Devonians were not asked about the Duke of Devonshire etc.

  13. NO MORE english princes!

    CYMRU AM BYTH.
