it has both. I think the memory cards are for the game cube games. I know when I bought a game for gamecube for the wii it came with its own memory card. We just use the hard drive though.

I'm pretty sure the Wii has internal 512mb flash memory, though addition memory cards are probably available for purchase.

it has a hardrive with 2 Gs if u bought one with 512 mb u got ripped=P, u can also add gamecube memory cards and sd cards.

Yes the wii has 512mb internal storage (not a harddrive)

There are 1 and 2gb sd cards that you can get but this is only for storing gamesaves, photos and some other things. If you wanted to transfer a game from the virtual console to the sd card and play it it wouldn't work.

Nintendo is working on a bigger harddrive though which might come out soon.
