Do the announcers on the Olympics have a list of things they can throw in to say?

Lines like" They make it look so easy." "Look at the body position" "That was beautiful" "Technique is so important here." etc.

After awhile it all gets repeated and sounds fake.

And why do the announcers say stupid things? A gymnast takes a huge fall from the rings and the announcer says, "And that...was a mistake" ... REALLY? I thought he MEANT to crash into the mat like that.

LOL usually the main commentator has no clue about the event he is commentating on.  They usually bring in some nerd alongside them who is hopeless at commentating but knows the sport.

Well the commentators can sometimes be harsh and mean. But they are sometimes helpful because I might not know the sport well enough to know that person did a mistake.

the announcers are so annoying this year lol... I don't remember it being like that in 2004
