Do the anti theft devices devices on the 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis really work? ?

I mean the chip embeded in the key. My last car with no protection was stolen and I wonder if this system is effective.

  1. Well yes and no it is effective to a certain point meaning the average smuck cant jus hop in with a screwdriver and steal it. but not really because they could drag it on a flatbed and drive away then bypass that system later. Aftermarket alarm is def. the way to go.Preferably viper, clifford, or some other DEI brand


  2. I have had my 2002 Grand Marquis LS S55 since brand new and never been stolen. It has a horn alarm along with the anti theft, but like anything else is someone wants it they will get it.
