Do the batteries for the xbox 360 controller have to be AA alkaline batteries or any kind of batteries?

The reason I ask this is because there was a note in the place that you put the batteries that said they must be alkaline

If it says so, use the alkaline batteries. You dont want to risk messing up the controller by using different batteries.

dont think so, i use duracell batteries and it works fine

no they can be any kind of AA batteries but i would buy some rechargeable batteries so you don't constantly have to go buy new ones.

i use differnt kinds, but don't mix different brands, it could mess up your controller big time.

But yeah, doesnt have to be alkaline
