Some benefits may include being able to pick the best teachers and having your child close, but some negatives may be behavioral issues with child acting out to get attention from nearby parent or the child simply feeling that they are more entitled than other students because of the situation. Any arguments based on experience for either side?

  1. It may be worse! You may end up teaching your own child. Last school year, three of my coworkers had their own children attending the school. One of the fifth grade teachers ended up teaching their own child for Science each day. The other students hated it. They said the teacher showed favoritism to the child and gave their own child answers for the work. Some teachers are respectful. My co-teacher's son got in trouble in school. He didn't find out that his son was in trouble until he saw him sitting in the time out chair in the cafeteria. Also last year, another teacher's child was injured by another teacher in the building for no good reason. I don't know if he was picking on the teacher's child or not.
