  2. Get advice from an optician, is my advice to you. Good luck.

  3. only you can decide that question

  4. i had it done, and it was worth every penny.  i see better now than i did with corrective lenses.

  5. I don't think so. Eyesight is arguably your most important sense... if even one in ten thousand patients are blinded as a result of lasik, what if that one person is you? Are you willing to take such a huge huge risk for the ease of not wearing glasses?

  6. Dont get too excited about laser on your eyes , have you been told your eyes are suitable to get it done,?? apparently

it is not suitable for every one they need to test them first.

On the upside though people that i have spoken too that have had it done say its great they have thrown their glasses away

  7. If you go to a very good professional there is no reason you can't get a great result with laser eye surgery.  It will depend on your presciption, not the sphere so much, but more on things like astigmatism.

Also your prescription has to be stable for a while before they will consider you eligible for the surgery.

The only thing they don't have is information on the long term effects of the surgery (tens of years), whether it will stay that way forever (although pretty much everyone at some point will need reading glasses, laser eye surgery or not), or get a little worse as you get older.

  8. The benefits outweigh the risks...IF it turns out right.

It is still a very delicate surgery.

  9. Depends on what type of lasik you are talking about, Convential lasik or CustomVue.  CustomVue has a lower chance of having halos or glare after, whereas a lot of people complain about glares and halos after conventional.  I just had CustomVue last week and I got a booklet that gave statistics on problems that could happen (nobody has ever gone blind).  All the statistics were under 3% for things such as lingering dry eye, halos, or glare.  The statistic for infection after was 1%.  The biggest risk most lasik docs will say is infection.  But, as long as you take the eye drops and take care of your peepers when they are healing, you should be fine.  As for the shooting lasers from your eyes, either ask for the "special" upgrade or roll around in some toxic waste :)

  10. Laser eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.

They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

  11. Most definately.  I have had two sorts of lazer and the risks were non existant.   And eyes improved both times.

  12. Firstly, your eyes have to healthy and be suitable candidate.  Primary risk removed.

Secondly, the different levels of screening gives you time to consider or re-consider.

Thirdly, make  the effort the checkout the specialists' track record, familiarise with planned procedure and view photo portfolio.  Secondary risk risk under control.

Each of the people who have had it were very pleased with the outcome.

It's more than looks.  Visual range is maximised.

Saves on spectacle frames, time keeping track of where glasses went, cleaning, headaches, etc
