  1. I'm not British but the way how they trip over the love lives of the family I would say they still have a lot of curiousity about them

  2. I'm not  British, but after living in the UK for a while, I can definitely see the worth of retaining the monarchy.

There are some clear benefits to keeping the spiritual/emotional, representative head of state (in this case, the Queen) separate from the administrative one (the PM).   For one thing, it allows people to criticize the PM 's politics without having their loyalty to the nation's ideals called into question.

  3. Britain is nothing without the Royal Family. We are a nation of Tradition and they are highest and most important Tradition of all!

  4. after the Queen's Golden Jubillee and the death of the Queen Mother, it's still very popular

  5. Although I am an American, I REALLY hope that you respect and admire your royal family as much as the majority of we Colonials do.

  6. Not in this house,,can't stand the whole lot of them

  7. I have met the Queen and in a modern society I dont see the point of it, im all for a republic.

  8. Putting all the emotion or tradition aside, and my own Royalist feelings -  I think a lot of Brits (myself included) don't think of Britain without accepting that there is a Queen or a King, its just part of British life, like the sea being where it is, or the bridge crossing the river. Whatever you think about it, its there, some can say abolish it, but most couldn't be bothered to make the effort that won't really make much difference anyway, and a common thought is "they are all right, its all the hangers on that i don't care for". So, God Save The Queen, and let our stability and traditons reign on, and hope that one day, if a serious situation were to come about and crisis were to prevail, that the Monarch in the name of the people would take action, speak out and take a stand.
