Do the composite AV cables work with any tv?

I have an 80gb ipod classic and i want to connect it to my tv.i jus want to know if the apple Composite AV cable will do the trick?If it does, will it work on any tv set even though its not HD.

composite video is the single yellow cable.(not HD) component video are the red blue and green(HD) cables so yeah the yellow video along with the red and white audio cables should work just fine(only VERY old tvs dont have these connections and have the RF cable connection thing)

yes, as long as the tv has composite females and the ipod lead has a red,white and yellow composite male ends.
