Do the do -it - yourself termite stakes work as well as professional stakes?

  1. Don't know for sure...but they should. They should only be an attractant though-not a termiticide. The purpose of the stakes it to indicate termite activity. Once you have them coming to eat the stake- then you remove the stake and replace it with the real thing- "bait and switch".

    The problem you may have is ...is it legal? If your home is mortgaged, then by state law you may be required to have state certified termite protection. You may want to check that out before you spend money.  You can call your county agent- he/she would know.


  2. They do work but if you aren't qualified to know when termites have been eradicated from your property is it worth it in the end? I would recommend using professionals for your termite inspection as its not worth risking your home/property to save a few hundred dollars.

  3. if you will read on the box you will see the statement that they do not take the place of profession termite treatments.  Those products will kill termites that feed on them and a number of others that they in turn feed the product to, but it will not kill out the colony as what the professional products claim to do
