Does the store pay them more when the product sells well? Or are these people paid the same regardless? Or maybe they're just unpaid volunteers? I feel guilted into buying the products I sample!

  1. they get paid an horly rate

  2. They  get paid by the hour, the product to show costumers is provided by the store that the worker is set up at. When one of my sisters did this kind of job a few years ago she was also reembursed for her milage on her car to get to and from the job.

  3. No they are paid by the hour.

  4. Usually they are paid by the hour.  And if the item they're promoting is a brand name, it's often a marketing company that hires them and not the grocery store.

  5. Don't buy it if you don't want it.  Sample wranglers get a pretty decent hourly rate for a few hours work, though no benefits.  Most people do it as a second job, anyway.
