  1. Excuse me, but generic medicines are NOT identical to the brand-name pills. The active ingredient is the same but the vehicle (the way the pill is formulated) is not. The patents on vehicles do not expire. In GENERAL the generic brands work as well as the brand name, but not always. The vehicle will determine to a great extent the bioavailability of the drug including: rate of absorption, distribution, time course of action and elimination of the drug. Unfortunately, there is no comprehensive list of the efficacy of generic vs. brand name medications.  


  2. no, but regular tylenol works better than extra strength.

  3. it's got the same stuff in it so why wouldn't it work the same?? it's just the name that makes it more expensive and what not.  

  4. Yes they do. All generic medication, be it over the counter or prescription, is the same exact chemical make up as the original. This is controlled by the food and drug administration (FDA) and the drug enforcement administration (DEA).
