  1. In the uk well were i had my baby i didnt have to pay for anything.

  2. That is something you would have to discuss with the hospital if they accept VISA as a form of payment. But i am pretty sure they do. but its a good thing to double check.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2005 45.8 million Americans do not have health insurance. If this figure includes you, you can anticipate an average hospital bill of $5,000-$10,000 for a vaginal delivery. Add at least $2,000 if you need a c-section. These figures do not include the medical costs associated with nine months of prenatal visits, ultrasound costs and other lab costs. If your baby is born premature or with health problems, neonatal costs can range from a few thousand for a short stay to more than $200,000 if you baby is born more than 15 weeks early.

Even those parents with health insurance can expect to pay coinsurance and deductibles related to pregnancy and childbirth.

My bill was a little over 10,000 (and i had a normal, no complications, vaginal birth with epidural) my insurance paid for everything... i just had to pay my 200.00 co-payment.

  3. The best thing for you to do is to go to the hospital where you plan to deliver and pre-register.  They will have you fill out forms and you can ask these questions as well as take a tour of the site.

  4. i have health partners they paid the whole thing it was 14,000 for me and 6,000 for my daughter and another 2,500 for the doctor who did my c section so its alot you should get some help dont ourdon yourself with the money just enjoy you baby birth

  5. I think it is ridiculous that the US has to pay money to have a baby let alone a great deal amount of money when you don't have insurance. I am from Canada and it is free, and yes we may pay taxes and this and that but truly they aren't that much and when it comes to how much health care we all use, it is worth those few extra tax dollars!!!!! It seems to be that more people in the states don't go to the doctor when they are sick and aren't getting the proper care when they are sick because the majority of people can't afford to go to the doctor!!! Here, we are able to go to the doctor when feeling under the weather to make sure that it isn't something more than just a cold because we know that we won't get charged an arm and a leg to do so!! Health care should be free everywhere, even if that does mean more money in taxes!~!!!!

  6. The hospital will bill your insurance.  If you don't have insurance, (or if the insurance doesn't cover it all) you will get a bill for the remainder.  You can arrange a payment plan -- usually at no interest (or much lower interest than your credit card...).  When you make the payments you can pay by check, or, if you wish, by credit card.

  7. come to the uk..

    its free.

and lol sounds funny paying for your baby by visa.

  8. Don't know where your from, but deliveries in the US are expensive. Most hospitals will accept credit cards, but you don't want to charge it. My part of the bill for a normal no complications delivery and 2 day hospital stay was about $11,000. The baby becomes a patient as soon as he is born and his bill was about $2000. If you don't have insurance, best to negotiate something with the hospital first. If you are low income, check with Medicare/Medicaid. They sometimes cover these things.

By the way, it's not really free in the UK. You guys are taxed out the wazoo for your "Free" health care. I guess if you don't have a job or make any money, then it's free. I'd rather pay for my own medical insurance and get the coverage and treatment I want and need when I need it than pay a butt load of taxes to help pay for other people to have kids they can't afford.
