  1. Yes, the Irish army, as part of the Permanent Defence Forces has an Air Corps based at Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel, Co. Dublin. Non-technical private soldiers in the Air Corps are transferred in from the Army as required and at times recruits are recruited directly into the Air Corps. You apply for General Service recruitment in the Army through your local Manpower Office.
