  1. they will run to approx 4am. after midnight they are free

  2. London Underground will be operating all through the night on New Years Eve and into New Years Day. Check the Transport for London website for details of service alterations and station closures (although almost all stations will be open). Certainly the extremities of all lines will be served, so you don't need to worry about getting home.

Regarding the cost, travel on the tubes and buses will be free for journeys commencing between 23:45hrs on New Years Eve and 04:30hrs on New Years Day. Outside those times, normal fares apply. You could just buy a single ticket to get into London early, then use the free travel to get home.

Bear in mind that, especially around midnight, some stations will almost inevitably become exit/interchange only due to overcrowding, and some trains may be non-stopped for the same reason. Places where this is likely include Westminster, Charing Cross, Embankment, Leicester Square and Covent Garden, plus others as required.

  3. As far as i am aware all station are open on new years eve. the definitely do run a lot later on new years eve. i don't think they run all night though. though i could be mistaken on that point. they are the same price as every night and free after 12. best thing to do would be to check with your local station for all the information as it does change from year to year

  4. They usually run until 4am and are free after midnight to get people home x*x

  5. yes they run until about 4 and they are free after 12 midnight , check at your tube station but i know they go to upminister /that's district line
