  1. yes they suck.

no they will not compete for a long time.

they should trade ichiro to the white sox

  2. Unless they make some acquisitions, I doubt it. They really shocked me because I thought they would be able to compete with the Angels. I remember when the Mariners were at the top of that division not too long ago.

  3. yeah the Mariners have a legitimate chance next year to compete in the Division but they will need to add quality players to their team (link below)

  4. Yes they do. Sad what has happened to them.

  5. As far as I know of, I have a half brother that would agree with you, and even through you might be sick and tired of this saying there is always next year. And of course, when you release a team's scedule, it is just hard to know what thier team will be like for that year. It is just impossible for all the teams to win, almost all thier games. One team has to win, and one team has to lose. And Seattle Mariners have a record of 45-73, which of course is not all that good.

  6. Well yes they suck.  The Onion recently had a story headlined "Win Puts Mariners 8 Games Over .300"  which made me laugh my *** off (for those of you who don't know The Onion is a satirical "news" website).

As far as coming back to be .500 or better and competing next year, there's always a chance, it just depends on what kind of moves they make in the off season.  Look at the Rays; no one thought they'd be leading the East at this point.  And Bavasi is gone now, so the M's probably won't be giving any more big contracts to light-hitting catchers or trading away a ton of talent for a pitcher with one great season under his belt.

I'm a fan of three teams- the Cubs (this is the year!), the Mariners (umm...) and whoever is playing the Yankees.

  7. I Think Their in a Rebuilding State.

They'll Probably try to Trade E. Bedard.

  8. Well Bedard have missed about 10 starts this year, but even if he had went 10-0 in those games, the M's would still be about 8 games under.  Ichiro batting over .300(like usual), Ibanez another solid season, Jose Lopez opening it up this year.  Its mainly been their pitching that have hurt them.  They dont have 1 reliable starter and their bullpen that was so good last year have faded.

If they can revamp their pitching back into 07' form and get Bedard back strong and maybe even aquire one more solid starter, i have no problem seeing the M's over .500 next year.

  9. Man I feel your pain. We both have teams that need to start turning things around soon! Ichiro will probably want to jump ship soon if this c**p keeps up!! Keep your head up though, now you can see if they can play spoiler towards the end of the year because that's the only thing the Mariners or the Reds have a chance of accomplishing (probably won't get that right either!).

  10. No they don't because at the beginning of the season they had the worst record and now they don't. I'm surprised that they can still afford Adrian Betray and Ichrio.
