The entire UK isn't overpopulated. Only England. Last time I checked Scotland has a declining population. They probably need to encourage people to start having more kids up there, especially in remote places like the highlands and islands. :-)

A star for you! I have been saying till I am blue in the face that this  issue is not about race but about numbers. As a country we simply do not have the resources to meet the needs of these increased numbers.

Regardless of whether an immigrant works or not they will still benefit from the whole "system" e.g. education and health care, therefore they will take out before they have even put in.

At a time when the indigenous population is being coerced, and I use that term deliberately, to reduce everything from their packaging to their carbon footprint, this government lets us be swamped. The argument may be that we are simply moving the numbers who pollute, and that overall the increase makes no difference. Not so in my opinion because as a nation our individual "score" will rise.

Third world immigrants having a propensity for larger families impacts on every aspect of this issue and needs to be addressed, this cultural attitude is unnecessary in a developed country and will simply accelerate the population crisis.

Didn't you get the memo where it states by the same said extremists that not only is ignorance blissful, but that for some reason the UK as well as other nations like the USA have unlimited resources to take on the economic and health for all poverty stricken nations. No worries, I am sure they will all be happy when we are all living below the poverty line..the only difference is that some of us wouldn't have pumped out 12 kids to eek out an existence and may fair better...so much for getting those degrees, huh.

I sympathise with this cause but the UK government has made a rod for its own back by having one of the best social security systems and health services in the world.  While we should be admired for that, it has been a magnet to the rest of the world, particularly those countries that are just developing.  Of course the true British population feel aggrieved at this but when we complain, we are shot down in flames of human rights issues and political intransigence. And I firmly believe that the horrific increases in the cost of living and the resultant debt are somehow connected with this all. I would very much like to see the UK government have a policy to limit mass immigration forthwith because simple forward vision must tell us that we will end up like rats fighting for the right to have a few square feet of our own.

I would be willing to bet that immigration extremists don't even care about future problems since the only English they know is crying racist will get them FREE food, FREE housing, FREE everything.

ONLY when give-aways run out, will they worry about where their next meal is coming from. Until then, they continue to come and get whatever the UK government will give as enough incentive.

Stop the hand-outs to new immigrants and they'll stop coming with their hands out!

Note:

This is not just a UK problem. It is a global problem. The earth is a finite planet with finite resources. It simply cannot support an infinitely growing world population. It is, perhaps, why we have wars. Humans have no natural enemies to keep our population under control. We defeat infant mortality and old age, and have effectively taken ourselves out of the food chain.

Solution:

a) birth control (like in China, one child per family)

b) more wars to determine who gets the resources

c) pray for Divine Intervention (good luck on that one)
