Do the new bmw models have a lojack installed secretly besides the Bmw assist?

I was wondering if bmw installs a lojack besides the bmw assist feature.

  1. LoJack is a separate company, it is not a BMW (or any other auto-maker's) product. However, it uses a concealed antenna. BMW's have an integrated BMW assist program, but many BMW's have a "sharkfin" which is that flat antenna you see off of the rear roof of the car. If someone manages to break it off, there goes your antenna and your BMW assist, while with LoJack the antenna is concealed and much harder to find. Note that with BMWs like the 6-series convertible the antenna is concealed anyway, so it's just as hard to find as the LoJack. Smart car thieves know where to look, but on the bright side 99.9% of car thieves aren't even smart enough to figure out how to rip off a sharkfin antenna (it's stuck pretty tight, I honestly don't even know either) much less be able to figure out where the LoJack transmitter even is... Though an audible alarm also wards off almost all possible car thieves anyway (after all, driving away with an alarm blaring is a dead giveaway to you having stolen a car, isn't it?).
