Question:

Do the new luggage restrictions apply to international flights?

I've been overseas for a couple of months, & I heard that the luggage restrictions went into effect just recently and that you are now only allowed to check in one bag. When I came over here I was allowed to check in two bags without an extra fee, but my boyfriend said he was charged to check in a 2nd bag on his flight from JFK to LAX last week.

Do you know if the same restrictions apply to 1st class? (possibly using miles to upgrade)

I'd be super appreciative for answers because I'm having problems accessing Delta's website right now & I'm taking off soon.

Thx in advance!

  1. I think it depends on what airline you use. My dad just flew to/from Kenya via emirates and he wasn't charged any extra bagging fees.

  2. As far as I am aware in 1st class you can still check in 2 bags with you as your baggage allowance will be higher but in economy they only allow you to carry one bag and it has to fit into the baggage sizer at the airport. Sometimes they are lenient depending on how many passengers they have on the flight and how they feel I guess. I travel all the time so I Hope this helps.

  3. you can take 2 bags unless your flying to jamaica. $25 for each extra bag.
