Do the olympic swimming pools have sensored walls?

i always wonder how they know who really wins when the races are so close. is there some sort of sensor on the pools ? so when they touch they know who really touched it first?

  1. Yes they have sensor pads on the walls for about 30 years now.  


  2. they place touch pad sensors on the wall which immediately stops the time when you touch them.

  4. the sensors are on the walls, that was how michael phelps' win by 1 hundredth of a second was determined!

  5. My friend, the pools have touch pads at each ends of the pool. That way the judges will know who reached first.

    Everything now a days is done electronically.
