Do the people who work in national geographic magazine get paid?

it sounds stupid, but i'm just asking since national geographic is a non profit organization or something like that

  1. yes, they do. they get funded for their projects.


  2. Sure, they get paid! It's a full-time job after all. "Non-profit" means that the profit made minus the employees' pay is donated.

  3. Just because it is non-profit does not mean there is no money involved.  You pay for the magazine right?

    Some employees are not payed and do it as volunteer work, but some are.

    However after paying the workers, and other expenses, all of the the money attained is put to work in conservation programs, and other beneficial organizations.

  4. national geographic is a business is a profit even through they claim it not!!!

    so yes people get paid for photography and writing otherwise they wont be there unless they're crazy

  5. Being non-profit doesn't mean that the workers work for free, it means that the service is not oriented for capital gain, or getting money only.  The workers get paid and most money comes from the ads presented throughout the magazines.
