Do the photoshops in the mall.......?

do the photoshops in the mall create good pictures, so they look professional or like k' mart pics.

and what is the best camera to buy to take great pics?

They might be a little better than K mart, but they're still part of a chain.  They train people off the street to shoot a certain way.  You get no creativity.  But if that's what you can afford, you will get a decent portrait.

Now as for the best camera, that depends on you.  What's your budget?  How much experience do you have?  Will you be okay with point and shoot, or will you want to get more creative?  Will you want to buy a variety of lenses, or would you be okay with what comes mounted on a camera?  Do you do snapshots of friends and family get togethers, or nature and art photos?

I suggest you think very carefully about what you want in a camera and the kind of results you expect.  Work out a budget of what you can spend.  Take that information to a camera store and see what they have that might fulfill your needs and fit your budget.  If you have it narrowed down to a handful of cameras, then try each one out and see how it feels in your hand.  

And make sure you spend a little extra and get a nice case, to keep it clean and safe.  And use the strap.  If you do those two things, then you won't need to bother with buying an extended warranty.
