Me and my sister both have Ipods, and we use the same download of Itunes. I have been told that the playlist on both Ipods have to be the same. Is this true? If so, is there a way around this?

  1. NO!

you can create different playlists on itunes one for each itunes or any combination you wish!

when you plug an ipod into itunes you can set its preferences in its tab in itunes and that is just for that ipod (upto 16)

  2. i hate itunes so badly for this my mom wanted different  music to  me i had to download a new play list for her  itunes is a pain

  3. Yes, you can't uncheck playlists. So both synced ipods will have the same playlists.

  4. of course there is.

make a playlist called mum and one called <your name>. put the stuff you like in yours, and the stuff she likes in hers.

when you plug you ipod in, and it appears in itunes, click on the "music" tab, click "selected playlists" and select your playlist.

then plug her ipod and do the same for hers.

    that's what playlists are for!

  5. I think the best solution is to make another user account on your computer. This way you each get a completely sepearate iTunes library. You wouldn't have to worry about syncing different playlists and stuff.

You could just sync your whole library and your music would be organised properly (sorted by artist, album, etc..) on your iPod rather than being all in one massive playlist.

You would still be able to share songs which you both wanted as well.

You can make new user accounts by going to control panel.

  6. no.  the way to fix it is to manually download songs.  when you plug your ipod in and the screen comes up and you have 'automatically download' and 'manually download' click 'manually download.'  so to get the songs on your ipod you go to your itunes library and then drag the songs you want onto your ipod.  you can also create a playlist for your stuff and another for you sisiter's stuff.  then when you plug it in you click to use that playlist.  i never used it that way but it should work.
