Do the police by law have to tell you if a person you have done a statment against if he is going to be charge

my ex boyfriend is out on bail and the min and he is due back at the police station in august but he has been told by one of his daughters that he is going to be charged when he goes to answer his bail, she got it from her other sister who has done a statment against him, i have also done one but shouldn't the police notify me as well plus my ex boyfriends sollister?

  1. Typically, no.  There are some states that require the police to notify you of arrest and release in cases of domestic violence or other violent crimes.  My advice is to just contact the police department and ask them.


  2. All that is public record so you can find out yourself, anyone can find out. If they are not telling you they may not have decided whether to charge this person with something.
