Do the "waitresses" at Sonic expect to get a tip?

I have always wondered about this, are you suppose to tip the people who bring your food out to you at Sonic restaurants?

Yes and No....If I get meals for all my family and they are accurate (yes I check) and I get my ketchup and shes friendly at that point I give her a tip.  No you dont tip 10 to 15+ percent but a buck or two is nice.  If I run by there and buy a drink then no normally I dont.    Im a really friendly person and try to smile and if they're nice to me then a dollar is a nice thank you.

They are on roller skates!!! That is crazy...who delivers food on skates? I remember the first time I went to sonic and I said something to the effect of "wouldn't it be funny if she fell..." Not 2 seconds after I said it BAM! She hit the ground, hard!

The moral of the story...tip them...they deserve it.

You should tip.....most of the time. If they are completely rude, don't feel bad for not tipping.

Sometimes when I go there, I give them my money, and I'm waiting for my change, and they just walk off, with my change, trying to keep it as their tip, without even asking. Those people don't deserve a tip. If they ask if you want your money back, or give you your money back, you should definately tip them. They are working hard, and if they are friendly, that makes it even better.

by rights, yes you should tip. Actually, most people do not leave a tip in restaurants either. The more costly the food, the less they will tip. Some high end restaurants pay their staff the going scale for waiters\waitresses who receive tips--usually 30% of min. wage---70% of their wages are made up by tips, by end of week they just barely make min. wage.

It is the family restaurants and the poorer people that tend to tip.

I don't think they are expecting a tip, they make a little bit more per hour than a regular waitress. I'm sure that they would like a tip, but do you tip the lady at MacDonald's?
