Do the racers in the 85cc classes use 80s or is that just what they call them?

  1. well when i raced 85S there were no 80 so i guess thats just wat they call them cause there is a class for only 85s


  2. 85 cc is the maximum capacity allowed in that class, so that's why most of the bikes would have been 80  cc.

  3. They don't make 80cc motocross bikes anymore. Years ago they were 80's and now all of them are 85's.

    We do call it the 80 class...and the 85 class....It would strange to call it the 84.7cc class.....

  5. Most of the major manufacturers developed the 2 stroke 80cc before they had the 85cc and when my boys first started racing there were still a number of bikes like the kx80 racing, but the 85cc's were begining to outnumber them.  

    Perhaps that is why the class is called 80's as that is what they used to be.
