Do the remnants left behind by type Ib and Ic supernovae become a black hole?

  1. Ic May be altough most are neutron stars


  2. In type Ib and Ic supernovae, most of the outer part of the star has been lost in stellar winds or pulled onto a companion star.  So it is possible that this mass loss prior to core collapse would mean that there wasn't sufficient material to form a black hole.
